Welcome to the Citrix ICA Client

This section includes:

Introduction

The Citrix ICA Client for QNX lets remote clients communicate with a Citrix server (either an NT Terminal server or modified Windows NT server). The remote client is a machine running the QNX operating system with the Photon microGUI, and the Citrix ICA Client for QNX. The Citrix server runs the Windows NT operating system and Citrix ICA server software (for example WinView, WinFrame, or MetaFrame).

The server and remote clients communicate over TCP/IP, using the ICA3 protocol developed by Citrix Systems, Inc.

What this means, for example, is that you can use applications such as Microsoft Excel or Word right from within your Photon workspace.

The following diagram shows several remote clients connected to a server:

This window lists any defined connection entries and the servers they connect to. It also lets you define new entries and edit existing ones. For more information, see Configuring the Citrix ICA Client.

Connecting to Windows NT

To connect to Windows NT, do any one of the following:

When prompted by the Windows NT dialog, log on by entering a valid Windows Username, Password, and Domain. If you automated your connection in the Networking panel, you'll skip by the login screen.

Note: The NT window can't be resized dynamically. The size of the window is set in the default preferences or in the settings for the connection entry. For more information, see Configuring the Citrix ICA Client.
