About This Book

The Programmer's Guide is intended for developers who are building applications that will run under the QNX 6 Realtime Operating System.


Note: Depending on the nature of your application and target platform, you may also need to refer to the Building Embedded Systems book in the Embedding SDK package.

Note: We assume that you've already installed QNX 6 and that you're familiar with its architecture. For a detailed overview, see the System Architecture manual.

Note to Windows users

In the QNX documentation, we use a forward slash (/) as a delimiter in all pathnames, including those pointing to Windows files.

We also generally follow POSIX/UNIX filesystem conventions.
