isspace

test for a white-space character

Synopsis:

#include <ctype.h>
int isspace( int c );

Description:

The isspace() function tests for the following white-space characters:

' '
space
'\f'
form feed
'\n'
new-line or linefeed
'\r'
carriage return
'\t'
horizontal tab
'\v'
vertical tab

Returns:

The isspace() function returns a non-zero character when the argument is one of the indicated white-space characters; otherwise, zero is returned.
